A new wave of construction crews have arrived in Flin Flon to start sidewalk and bus pad upgrades .
Sidewalks are going to be upgraded or installed in the following areas including:
• Queen Street at Pine Avenue
• Phelan Street, from Green Street to Steventon Boulevard
• Wright Avenue at Whitney Street
• South Hudson Street at 5th Avenue
• 3rd Avenue from Boam Street to Adams Street
• Green Street from Elm Avenue to Spruce Avenue
• North Avenue from Church Street to Main Street
In addition, new bus stop pads and shelters will be installed:
• Corner of Queen Street and Pine Avenue
• Corner of Wright Avenue and Whitney Street
• Corner of South Hudson Street and 5th Avenue
• Ross Street
The goal over the next two summers is to ensure that the city’s transit stops are fully connected by sidewalks. This will help ensure the transit network is accessible and reduce the need for pedestrians to walk on the shoulders of roadways. The bus shelters will also help people using public transit have a protected space to wait for busses during inclement weather.
