The Town Of Snow Lake Has Announced Re-Entry

Town of Snow Lake – Re-Entry Update

Snow Lake Council met Monday  afternoon with the Manitoba Wildfire Service (MWS) and Manitoba Emergency Management Organization (EMO) to review the current wildfire situation.

Based on MWS recommendation, Council has rescinded the mandatory evacuation order effective for this  Friday August 22, at 8:00 A.M.

As residents return home, the Town has implemented the following measures to support re-entry:

Waste and Garbage Services: Free tipping at the Snow Lake landfill will be available for two weeks, from August 25 to September 7.

Manitoba Wildfire Service (MWS) has informed the Town there will be increased vehicle activity by MWS in the coming weeks. Please take caution when encountering these wildfire crews on the roads. There also may be smoke plumes visible which MWS will be monitoring closely.

A Welcome Centre will be established at the Community Hall to provide resources and assistance for returning residents.

The Centre will operate on

- Friday August 22 from 12:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M

- Saturday and Sunday August 23 and 24 from 10:00 A.M to 7:00 P.M.

Resources such as mental health supports, Red Cross, Service Canada, and social assistance will be available for all community members. A food bank will be available at the welcome centre to those in need as supplies last.

The Town thanks all residents for their patience and resilience during this evacuation. They  look forward to welcoming everyone safely back to the community.
