The Saskatchewan Government and General Employees Union were in Denare Beach on Thursday to make a cheque presentation towards the Denare Beach Fire Department to help with costs due to the wildfire.
Tracy Sauer the President from SGEU says it is important to let the people of Denare Beach know that there is support from other parts of the province.
" Well as SGEU, we represent members right across Saskatchewan and many of them are rural and remote members as well. We have members here and one of our goals and missions in our union is to support community. When we see areas that need help we want to be there to help them."
The cheque presentation was for $10,000.00 and SGEU serves members right across Saskatchewan with members in both Creighton and Denare Beach who work in education, health and conservation.
