Residents from Creighton and Denare Beach gathered together at the Creighton Community Hall this past Tuesday for a Town Hall meeting to discuss progress with the wildfires.

 

Buckley Belanger the MP for Desnethe Missinippi Churchill River was in town to answer questions and hear concerns from the people of this area directly.

 

Belanger says it is important that his office works with the Provincial Government and Municipality to get the answers and support that they need.

 

" I think that people want to be heard and we have heard it time and time again that they want the Province to come to Creighton, Denare Beach as they have a lot of questions. I certainly saw evidence at the meeting tonight that they are very respectful and very strong in their positions. Ultimately I think the message from the people of Creighton and Denare Beach is that they have gone through so much , at the very least they should be heard. It is important that they get their message through."

 

 

They are looking for a local liaison  from Denare Beach and Creighton  to work with Buckley’s office in Ottawa and any questions or concerns can be sent to buckleybelanger@gmail.com.
