Fire Ban Has Been Lifted

The City of Flin Flon has lifted the fire ban and off road travel ban as of this past Wednesday.

Flin Flon Mayor George Fontaine  was at the CFAR studio shortly after the announcement was made and mentioned the things you still need  to keep in mind.

" People still need to be responsible and understand the risks. If you are travelling off road,  avoid tall grass if you can and make sure  your machine is in good working order. If you are having a fire in a fire pit make sure it is set up properly , that your lawn is mowed and your bushes are trimmed and all those clippings are raked up. We want people to enjoy the summer but fire season isn't over yet. Generally speaking, what ever you do, do it with caution."

There are no fires in the area that directly affect Flin Flon , if there ends up being a new fire of concern to the community information will be shared immediately. You will be able to access that through the Flin Flon social media channels and 102.9 CFAR.
