The town of Leaf Rapids reports that last night Fire 113 entered the community. The town says that the fire jumped the Churchill River and reached its industrial area.

 

The latest information is that only 1 structure appears to be damaged from the fire last night. The owner of this house is being contacted directly. All other structures are standing and appear to be undamaged. The fire has burnt forested area mainly in the north portion of Town, with the south half seeing very little impact.

 

Crews are in Leaf Rapids and have been for some time, putting out hotspots to prevent further damage. There are burnt hydro poles leading into town, and there is a potential for power loss as a result.
