The Uptown Emporium in association with The Manitoba Metis Federation have launched a podcast titled North Of The ‘Fourth, host Drayden Lowe discusses what he and his guests will be going over.

 

 “...the point of our Podcast, we’re launching this year’s stories of Northern voices and artists and vendors across Northern Manitoba. Pretty much we just let them talk about how they’ve done it and what they like about it and what not.

And we’re really excited to share it with you guys and it’s about our communities up North here with Flin Flon, Thompson, Churchill, Snow Lake, The Pas, OCN and Leaf Rapids.”

 

The latest episode features Kari Lentowicz — a Denare Beach-based artist and survivor of the 2025 wildfires. Kari practices birch bark biting, and she gives detail on the traditional and intricate art form that blends culture, memory, and resilience.
