Deputy Mayor Alison Dallas Funk opened up the City Council meeting on Tuesday and said they have started their Graffiti Removal Program. Graffiti has already been removed from all the buildings on Main Street and you will notice a city truck and trailor making it’s way around the community to start working on other buildings.
If you notice some graffiti that needs to be removed you can contact the city at info@flinflon.ca.
The City shares a services agreement with the Flin Flon School Division and has donated the Whitney Forum and Flin Flon Community Hall for this weekend’s grad ceremonies and celebration. The City also put up banners of all the graduates which can be viewed on Flin Flon’s Main Street.
The Joe Brain Petting Zoo will not be operating this summer but all the workers who normally work at the zoo have been redistributed to Summer In The Parks, The Parks Department and the Tourist Bureau.
National Indigenous People’s Day will now be celebrated on Saturday August the 23rd at the Creighton School Grounds and the City is thinking about rescheduling the Fish Fry.
A decision will be made next week.
