Following the recent wildfire emergency and mandatory evacuations that caused significant disruption to the region.  Community Futures Greenstone is introducing an emergency business relief program  to assist businesses in  Northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Gavin Williams,  the General Manager of Greenstone in Northern Saskatchewan  explains the process. " So we are going to have a simplified application process , and some of the criteria we are going to need to establish will include businesses to demonstrate they have faced direct impact from the emergency." They will have to establish that they have been in operation  for at least 6 months prior to  the emergency evacuation. They will have to demonstrate a reasonable expectation once receiving assistance that things look recoverable. They have good expectation of business continuity,  is the way we have put it in the policy."
