Cranberry Wins Provincial Award

The Economic Developers Association of Manitoba held their 9th annual Manitoba Economic Development Awards back in June.

These awards recognize excellence in Economic development right across the province. Four categories are represented each year. The awards were presented in Steinbach and the Cranberry Artisan Market was the winner for Project Of The Year for under $100,000.00.

Barb Bragg was on hand to receive the award and says this a great honor for Cranberry and the entire North. " We were pretty darn thrilled as we knew we were nominated,  and that came at the end of a process we were invited to send something in on the market and we did. So how we got involved with this as we did a survey at the end of our last year,  and approximately two thirds of the vendors had submitted their information which was totally voluntary. They had generated at that market some where over $25,000.00,  and what that says is if you project that over the summer we are probably generating an economic development of over $100,000.00."

With the wildfire situation Cranberry had to cancel their last two Artisan Markets,  and look forward to bringing them back including the next one scheduled for August the 2nd. If you are a vendor and would like to get involved you can e-mail cpartisanmarket@gmail.com.
