The Northern Neighbors Foundation has distributed around $200,000.00 to assist in the firefighting efforts in Northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Shylo Rogers explains where the money will be going. " First we started off with some relief funds to the fire departments. The fire departments meaning Flin Flon, Creighton, Denare Beach , Cranberry and Snow Lake. We distributed $200,000.00 to those departments for their immediate needs. What they were lacking, what they were missing and hoping to alleviate some stress financially off of those organizations." 

Northern Neighbors also donated $50,000.00 worth of groceries to the Lord’s Bounty Food Bank, so that the  evacuees could get some relief after returning from being away for a month. Northern Neighbors is now putting together a Flow Through Fund to raise money for local projects including mental health, community repair and community projects for the wildfire evacuees.
