The City of Flin Flon is advising residents that a pre-alert for possible evacuation is now in effect.

 

The pre-alert is being issued as a result of the dry conditions and the proximity of the fires. Residents are advised to stay alert and begin planning for a potential evacuation which could occur on short notice should the situation escalate.

 

Emergency Services suggests residents prepare in the following ways:

Ensure vehicles are fueled and ready for travel.

Prepare an emergency kit which includes:

Prescriptions medications.

Important documents such as passports, papers etc.

Computers/laptops.

Valuables and items that are meaningful to you.

Personal items (clothing, toiletries, phone chargers etc.)

Supplies for pets.

 

If you are a vulnerable person and need assistance in the event of an evacuation please register with us at City Hall by filling out a vulnerable person's form or calling 833 210 6435.

 

Should the situation escalate an Evacuation Centre will be set up and details will be provided.
