Mayor Fontaine began Tuesday night’s Council Meeting praising all the local actors, volunteers and people behind the scenes for the Flin Flon Community Choir’s spring production of Annie.
Fontaine commented that he thought the show was flawless and steller and once again did the community proud.
The City has updated their policy manual which will now include an employee appreciation clause. For any employee who has worked for the city for 25 years they will either receive $25,00.00 towards a watch or $25,00.00 cash.
The city was happy with the recent community cleanup and thank all the volunteers who showed up at Pioneer Square and also thanked the groups that cleaned up around the Walmart and McIsaac school areas. There will be another community cleanup scheduled for Monday May the 26th and you can stop by City Hall any time to pick up garbage bags and gloves and start cleaning up your neighborhood any time.
You can phone City Hall when you are done and they will come and pick up the bags for you.
A public hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday June 3rd at City Council Chambers to discuss the rezoning of Kingsway Park. The city will listen to any concerns from the public and take concerns and answer questions best they can. The meeting will take place at 6:30pm right before the regular Council meeting at 7.
Objectives will need to be filed by the end of the meeting and then will be taken to the Provincial Planning department in Thompson.
The City Budget meeting is tonight and the Mill Rate will be staying the same with the Special Service Levy going up $184.00 for the year. The public is encouraged to come out and the meeting will start at 7pm in Council Chambers.
