The Women’s Resource Centre is presenting Walk A Mile In Her Shoes which is an event to help promote men standing up against violence towards Women and Girls.
Allie Klippel who is a Resource Worker and Crisis Counsellor talks about the importance of this event. " Since 2001, Walk A Mile In Her Shoes has been promoted as an international men's march to stop sexual assault and gender violence. It is a great opportunity to raise awareness in our community about the serious causes and effects of sexualized violence against women and girls. We push this event to join our community in our fight to help our women in our community."
The event will take place at Pioneer Square on Friday June the 27th at 5:30pm. If you are interested in taking part you can pick up a pledge form at the Women’s Resource Centre, off their facebook page or different businesses around town.
After the walk there will be a get together at Pioneer Square that will include a barbecue, kids games and entertainment.
