Yesterday, residents of the Carrot Valley who were still evacuated along Highway 283 were allowed to return home.

Highway 283 was also reopened to the public, while roadblocks remained in place at Profit Road to allow only residents of the road to enter.

The fire is still out of control but has moved away from the community for the meantime, thanks in large part to the continued service of dedicated emergency responders.
