Wildfire season is here and there are several fires burning in Manitoba and Saskatchewan including the area around the Pas and the Hanson Lake Road around Caribou Creek.

 

The City of Flin Flon wants to keep the residents and visitors to Flin Flon informed.

 

 The city has  set up a webpage where they  will be logging all of their  wildfire notices through the summer so you can get the most up to date information about wildfires in our area, ground conditions, and restrictions on fire and backcountry travel.

 

 

The city  will also be sharing information through social media and CFAR .

 

Information will be shared as it is received , but you can follow other community channels as they relate to you including   Town of Creighton, Town of The Pas, The Village of Denare Beach, and the Province of Manitoba.

 

The Province of Manitoba has issues a Wildfire Danger Advisory through the Alert Ready system, stating that there is a high risk of wildfires in southern and central Manitoba (duh), an area that includes Flin Flon and The Pas.

 

The situation in Flin Flon has not changed, and the community is not in danger.
