Liberal Party member Rebecca Chartrand is the new MP for the Churchill Keewatinook Aski Riding.
Chartrand claimed 7925 votes, followed by Niki Ashton of the NDP with 5262 in yesterday’s federal election.
Lachlan di Nardi of the Progressive Conservatives had 4444 votes and was followed by Dylan Young with the People’s Party of Canada with 368 votes.
While Mark Carney will take the helm as Prime Minister with the Liberal Party, there is no final decision just yet as to whether he has a minority or majority government.
In Northern Saskatchewan for the Desnethe Missinippi Churchill riding which includes Creighton and Denare Beach, they will also be represented by the Liberal party.
Bucky Belanger has been elected with 65.6 % of the vote share while Jim Lemaigre holding 25 % for the Conservatives and NDP candidate Doug Racine earned 9.3 % of the vote share.
The riding was formerly held by Gary Vidal who chose not to run for re-election.
82 of the 88 polls have reported.
