Rebecca Chartrand Is Campaigning In Flin Flon

The federal election is now less than a week away as voters will head to the polls on Monday April the 28th.

Rebecca Chartrand is running for the Liberal party for the Churchill Keewatinook Aski area which includes Flin Flon, The Pas and Thompson as well as 64 other communities in this region. Chartrand was in Flin Flon on Tuesday to discuss the issues that people in this area are concerned about.

" Well people are seeing an aging infrastructure, people think the North is being forgotten, and people want to see change and a new leadership. They have an MP who has been there for 17 years who hasn't really been effective. So they want to see someone who actually has a seat in power with a government that is in power."

Chartrand has a lot of experience in advocating for people in the North and is currently working with the Indigenous Strategy Alliance which is a Manitoba based company. Chartrand has also worked with the Province Poverty Task Force, Anti Racism Policy, suicide prevention as well as safety, wellness and justice prevention and intervention.
