The Saskatchewan Urban Municipal Association  Conference took place in Saskatoon last week and a couple members of Flin Flon’s City Council attended,  including Councillor Mike Slipp and the Director of Human Resources and Finances Joy Capyk.

Councillor Slipp said they had an opportunity to meet with a lot of different people.  " I got to meet the MLA for the Creighton area, Jordan McPhail who is a great young man and knew about the regionality issues of our hospital and we are part of Saskatchewan. It was a breath of fresh air to get a chance to talk to Jordan. We went to a bunch of sessions including Intergovernmental Affairs was a good one. Scott Moe the Premier of Saskatchewan gave an address which was really interesting , and we went to a Northern Municipalities session where just the folks who are in Northern Saskatchewan attended."

Mayor George Fontaine,  Deputy Mayor Alison Dallas Funk and  the CEO Lynn Brown attended the AMM in Winnipeg last week and will compare notes with Councillor Slipp and Capyk who were in Saskatoon and find ways to  implement some different strategies for our region.
