NDP Candidate for Churchill- Keewatinook Aski, Nikki Ashton was in Winnipeg with NDP leader Jagmeet Singh as the NDP are preparing for what could be one of the most important federal elections in this country’s history.
Ashton commented about some of the issues that the NDP will be addressing for our region. " Well this is a important election as we have to stand up for Canada and stand up for our region. I will say that I am starting to hear from people in our region in the need to stand strong for our North. We know that Donald Trump with his tariffs is trying to squeeze us economically , but he also wants to access resources in our country. This could have an impact on our region and a lot of people want to see us take a strong stand against Donald Trump."
Ashton commented that they will be very busy on the campaign trail before the election on April the 28th and will be doing more door to door canvassing in Flin Flon , and visiting all the communities in the constituency.
