The Liberal Party of Canada has named Rebecca Chartrand as their candidate for the riding of Churchil-Keewatonok-Aski.
She currently serves as the president and CEO of Indigenous Strategy – a management consulting company. Chartrand previously ran for the same seat in 2015. She says that she hopes to bring her voice to parliament.
" I am going to bring a voice and a presence that has been missing in the riding for some time. The riding has 75 % Indigenous people and the riding is dealing with some of the toughest issues that this country is facing."
Chartrand will be challenging incumbent MP Niki Ashton once again representing the NDP. Other candidates named so far are Lachlan Dinardi for the Conservatives and Dylan Young from the People’s Party of Canada.
The federal election is on April 28
