March is Nutrition Month and is being celebrated right across the country including Northern Manitoba to draw attention to the importance of making informed foods choices and developing good eating habits.
Joanna Ledoux is a Community Dieticion who is with the Northern Health Region and works out of Flin Flon. Joanna explains what the theme is this year.
" The theme this year is Nourish To Flourish and I really enjoy this theme. The theme is significant in the sense as Dieticions we understand that food means more to people than simply what we eat. As Dieticions and for people in general we need to know that many factors influence our ability to flourish and impact our food choices. For example activity levels, mental well being , work patterns, family and lifestyle, food preferances, cooking skills and budget all have an affect on what we eat."
