Flin Flon will be getting a upgrade and a brand new set of lights for Main Street. The Director Of Operations Mike Funk was on the CFAR City Beat Show on Wednesday and provided the details.

" We are going to see some upgrades this summer on Main street in regards to lighting. We have several new light standards and designs picked out as we are in the order stage for all this stuff. You will see some changes and with those changes comes a lot of efficiency upgrades. Obviously we are going to have a totally different style of light which will be more of a downcast light on the road that will have a bigger spread. There will be a lot more light dispersion on the road and sidewalk so that will be increased for safety at night time."

Funk went on to mention that they will using a new more modern look of lights which will be more efficient and all the light standards will be back in place. They will be using LED which are way more energy efficient, and the  new lighting system will allow them to rewire how everything is done and the lights will be on from dusk til dawn.

Beech Electric from Flin Flon will be doing the work and will start the project this summer.
