The City Of Flin Flon Announced Their New Deputy Mayor On Tuesday Night

 

 

A number of resolutions were passed at the City Council meeting on Tuesday night.

 

Mayor George Fontaine started the meeting by thanking Councillor Steve Lytwyn  for serving the past two years as the Deputy Mayor and announced that Councillor Alison Dallas Funk will now step into the role for the next two years.

 

The City has passed a resolution for UCN to take over the land on the west side of the Northern Manitoba  Mining Academy building to bring in 11 buildings for dorms which should start to take place in the spring.

 

The City has entered into an agreement with Beech Electric for the materials and installation of lights on Main street and Rotary Park with the work to start very soon. The Discipline and Performance Improvement Plan has been updated to provide more communication between the employee and Supervisor.

 

Councillor Mike Slipp congratulated Flin Flon Minor Hockey for the job they did hosting U-11 Provincials this past weekend praising the work that Adam Ricard and his committee did not only show casing the hockey but  the community as well.

 

Councillor Alison Dallas Funk also gave credit to the City crew for their excellent job on snow removal and commented that they put in a lot of hours with the heavy snowfall that we received the last few weeks.
