The Regional Economic Development Commission has put together an updated version of a Regional Economic Development study that was put together with input from different local business leaders, the Flin Flon Chamber Of Commerce, Greenstone, the Manitoba Chamber Of Commerce and Saskatchewan Economic Development Alliance.
Emily Roberts Young talks about the plan they have put together and their goals for the future. " So this Regional Economic strategy was aimed to unite the three communities in our region, Flin Flon, Creighton and Denare Beach. So we could have a shared economic goal. Our main pillars include developing economic foundations which include different statistics, indicators, different bench marks we can grow from. Our second goal is to attract investment and improve local business. Third, we want to grow industry and diversify. Fourth, we want to work with our local post secondary and secondary institutions for educational opportunities. Our fifth goal is to work with our Indigenous partners and sixth , we want to do community development."
