Flin Flon City Councillor Alison Dallas Funk was in Winnipeg and recently met with Minister Naylor who is the Minister of Infrastructure and Highways.

Funk gives us the details for the reason for the meeting. " It was really great and it was last minute , so I was really happy they agreed to see me as I was in Winnipeg anyways, so why not try to get in and see some Ministers. It is really great that they recognize that we are from the North, so when we are down there why not see them. The whole point of me going down was again and again to discuss Highway 291 which is our Channing highway. I think this is the fifth time that our administration has approached them on this in the last two years. We have now talked to two different Ministers on this and I feel like we are making some head way."

Funk mentioned that they will be coming up this summer to visit the site and do an assessment. They will also be inspecting the guard rails over by the Fairview Apartments and will be looking at a procedure for a different route to help reroute large trucks and semis.
