The Wahkotowin Trails Committee met for the first time in 2025 this past Tuesday at the Creighton Rec Office to put together their plan for the up coming year.
Leslie Beck is excited about the year ahead. " Well we talked about completion of our signage for Phantom Lake, so we got the go ahead to work with a sign company in the Pas for completion of our story boards. We also had a discussion with Denare Beach setting up a trail group to move forward on the Peninsula Trail, so we are very excited about that. We talked about the temporary signage we did on the Creighton Trail and moving forward with the Creighton Council on giving the trail a name."
They are sitting very good financially due to the grants and donations that they have received including a donation from a skate that took place in Creighton, plus RE UZ IT, and the Credit Union. They will also be applying for grants from the Northern Neighbors Foundation and the Sask Trails Group.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday March the 11th once again at the Creighton Rec Office and is open to anyone who would like to attend. For more information you can reach out to wahkotowintrails.com or contact Leslie at 204-680-6089.
