A Provincial wide organization is providing opportunities for youth.
Local high school students are gaining professional mentorships via a program from Creative Manitoba. Danita Stallard provides training; teaching young artists how to sustain themselves creatively and financially. Stallard goes in depth on how it all works. " Creative Manitoba puts on the program once a year, and you do have to apply to work with your mentor or the Rural Mentorship program. The whole idea behind it is giving artists in rural locations such as Flin Flon, the opportunity to work with active artists who will give them a chance to work with professionals. They take care of all the funding for us as we get together and have un and make art."
Mentorship sessions take place weekly at the Norva Centre at no cost to the protégés. The goals of the program include having students learn more about productivity and profitability in the arts sectors
