The Northern Health Region is holding a 6 week program called Get Better Together which is designed for anyone living with an ongoing health issue.
Christa McIntire who is the Community Health Developer explains what the program offers. " It is designed for individuals with on going health conditions to try and take control of their health. The weekly sessions offer group support and help build people's confidence to better manage their health. Get Better Together is a program that was actually developed by the Patient Education Resource Centre and Stanford University. It is run in countries all over the world. It is a best practise really evaluated program. We run it here in Flin Flon under the Northern Health Region, but we are under the direction of the Seven Oaks Welness Centre in Winnipeg."
The program will start at the end of January and will take place at the PHCC, or you can take the program online. To register or for more information , contact Crista McIntire at the Northern Health Region at 204-681-3145. The program is free.
