Flin Flon City Council gathered at City Council Chambers for the final time in 2024.
There were a number of resolutions passed including Council agreeing to donate $200.00 to Wallee Olson and Vanessa Campbell for the third annual Jimmy Custer Memorial Dog race, and a donation of $150.00 to Ecole McIsaac and Ruth Betts schools for yearbooks.
Council has appointed Emily Roberts Young to sit as the representative for the Regional Immigration committee. Emily will be joined by representatives from Swan River, The Pas and Snow Lake with their first meeting virtually coming up in January.
The City has also signed off on an agreement by the Minister of Infrastructure under the snow removal agreement for responsibility for maintenance of Provincial roads for Highway 10A to the Saskatchewan border.
Councillor Alison Dallas Funk concluded the meeting by commenting on all the positive projects that the people in our community can look forward to including the paving of Flin Flon’s Main street with new lights, a new City Bus including shelters and new curbs and the completion of the new swimming pool.
