Mayor George Fontaine and Councillor Judy Eagle were guests on the most recent City Beat program that took place on CFAR this past Wednesday afternoon.

Fontaine mentioned that there is a new initiative being put together on Economic Development . " So what we are talking about here right now there is a survey going out. I believe there are 60 business's in the community being surveyed. They are being surveyed on what is working for them, what isn't working , what they need, what we and the province can do, what local lenders can do. It just depends on the situation,  as it is going to be different for every business and we will talk about all those questions. After doing 60 different business's that will also include Creighton and Denare Beach , a report will be made and we will contact everyone and let them know what the results were. We will then try to see if there is anything we can facilitate and make the business's grow."

Fontaine also talked about the recent Tourism Initiative that took place at the Flin Flon Community Hall a few weeks back. It  went very well allowing groups and organizations to come together and share ideas and an overall plan for business’s and tourism.
