It is a fifth straight majority government for the Sask Party who convincingly won last night’s provincial election.
The Sask party remains strong in the rural areas but did lose in the big cities taking 35 seats in the 61 seat legislature.
In the Cumberland constituency representing Creighton, Denare Beach, Deschambault, Pelican Narrows and Sturgeon Landing it was an NDP victory.
Jordan McPhail who had 2,230 votes was able to hold off Gregory Seib of the Sask party who came second with 1,575. Siwichis Bird Paddy had 164 votes for the Green Party and Nasser Dean Chalifoux had 49 as an Independant.
Health care and making life more affordable for residents will be a key focus for McPhail moving forward.
