The prairie region of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation says they appreciate the fact the city of Flin Flon has issued an official proclamation of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  They say that by making the declaration Flin Flon is helping the Foundation build a more hopeful country, one where people look forward in anticipation of the next breakthrough, the next advancement, the next life saving treatment that changes the landscape of breast cancer care for the better.

Their Vice-President of Business Development Bonnie Megley says throughout October people from across Canada unite in their efforts to increase awareness on this important cause that will affect one in nine women in her lifetime.

Two recent events in Flin Flon raised awareness and supported breast cancer research with the CIBC Run for the Cure this month raising 1587 dollars and the Breast Cancer Pledge Ride North in August raising just over 20 thousand dollars.
