Work is underway on a Habitat home in Flin Flon

The city of Flin Flon has donated a vacant lot at 189 Steventon Boulevard to the Habitat 53° Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.  Chapter Chairperson Ted Elliott says plans to build their first home at 63 Green Street had to be changed.  He says they ran into a rather large rock which presented some problems as far as the build was concerned and challenges in removing it so the city was generous enough to donate a lot on Steventon Boulevard which allows them to go ahead with construction this year.

Elliott says work has started on the new lot.  He says right now the city is digging for sewer and water connections, the plumber will set elevations and the foundation crew should be on site this week.

Plans are to deal with the rock at 63 Green Street and use the lot for Habitat’s second home.
