Grandmothers Walk Held In Flin Flon Yesterday

There was a really good turnout yesterday for the 13th annual Grandmothers Walk in Flin Flon to bring awareness  to sexual exploitation against children.

Elder Margaret Head  was very encouraged about the good turnout as the walk continues to grow in Flin Flon. " Yes we started off with one drum group, now we have four drum groups and we have a lot more people who are attending that are providing that support for the young children in this  community. I think it is because the awareness has grown so much in the last few years that people are getting involved,  and they are seeing that we need to protect all the children in this community from people who are going to harm them."

The afternoon started with everyone meeting at the Neighbors Of  The North Park for an opening smudge before being led by a police escort down Main Street to Pioneer Square for remarks,  a ceremony and soup and bannock.
