Raj Sweda who is the NHR CEO was a guest at yesterday’s Chamber meeting and commented that there are a lot of developments happening when it comes to health care in the North.
Sweda shares some of the things that they have been working on. " One of the priorities we are working on is to identify when a practitioner leaves the community and a new one comes in. How do the clients and our health care seekers get continuity of service. This is something we are trying to figure out so they don't have to go through the physician finder. The second priority item we have is to establish a reliable walk-in clinic for Flin Flon and that will help us address the needs of our population here. The third important aspect is needs that have been brought to the table from our local communities across the border including the PBCN. We will meet with them in October and go over their needs and see how we can help them in accesing services at the Flin Flon hospital."
Sweda also went on to mention that they may be looking to expand the hours of medical needs to evenings and weekends. You can continue to follow updates by going to the NHR website at northernhealthregion.com.
