Residents of Sandy Bay were evacuated on August the 13th due to the fast moving Flanagan fire.
The fire has now been contained with no growth in the last 72 hours so officials from the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation have lifted the evacuation.
Busses have started returning the 1800 people who were forced out of the community.
Power, water and sewer systems are fully functional with the RCMP, Health Services, grocery stores and gas stations all operating.
Care packages and essential supplies are being distributed to returning residents.
