Manitoba’s Public Utilities Board will hold a meeting next Tuesday to discuss the water rates here in Flin Flon.
Flin Flon Mayor George Fontaine was a guest on the CFAR Citybeat program on Wednesday and had this to say about what will be taking place.
" We had a rate study done by a professional group and a study done for the water people so we would know where we were at. They are the ones who discovered what the financial issues were and made suggestions for repairs and that sort of thing. Now that has to be gone over by the Public Utilities Board , they are the ones who look over the facts and take any information from the public and maje their decisions based off that. They make the decisions not us."
The City Of Flin Flon will have a representative there to explain what happens with Flin Flon’s water system and the Public Utilities board will be able to use that information in making recommendations moving forward.
This happens at the Flin Flon Community Hall on Tuesday August 27th with doors opening at 5 and proceedings at 5:30.
