The Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation is moving their members out of Sandy Bay because of a wildfire in the area.
According to a SPSA bulletin the fire is within 20 kilometres of the community. Bulldozers are building a guard around the community and crews and equipment including air tankers are attacking the fire.
An ignition team is looking for burning opportunities in case the fire gets closer to the community.
PBCN previously released a proactive pre-evacuation preparation list telling residents to prepare their homes, vehicles and go to bags for an evacuation.
There has been a partial evacuation of people from the community dictated by health conditions with the majority of people going to Prince Albert.
