Some very good news on the Wilson fire located over by Creighton and Denare Beach, the fire evacuation alert has been lifted.

Creighton Mayor Bruce Fiddler made the announcement on CFAR on Friday afternoon and thanked all the firefighters and different personnel who got on this fire  very quickly. " The response from the SPSA, and the firefighters, helicopter buckets and water bombers were all on top of it quckly. You can't say enough about the work that they have done."

Fire crews will remain on sight for the next 10 to 14 days to make sure the fire is completely out and look for hot spots. The office will remain open at the Creighton Tourism and Rec building  on Creighton Ave so people can continue to register in case of any other emergencies in the future. The fresh air centre remains open at the Sportex for anyone with respiratory issues daily 8 to 5pm.
