A forest fire has developed around Wilson Lake which is  currently 7km away from Creighton, so all three communities of Flin Flon, Creighton and Denare Beach have been put on evacuation notice.

Water bombers from both Manitoba and Saskatchewan will be tracking this fire by air and want to hit it hard before the wind changes direction this afternoon.

Fire support will also be arriving from Prince Albert later today.

Here is the statement issued earlier from Town Of Creighton Mayor Bruce Fiddler.  " I have an announcement on behalf of the tri- community area. Due to the close proximaty of the Wilson fire , the area is preparing just in case of an evacuation. We ask that all residents pack their emergency  bags and be prepared to evacuate if necessary on short notice. We will try to keep everyone updated and informed, please visit the Town Of Creighton facebook page for updates. I want to reiterate that this is an evacuation alert not an actual evacuation. We will continue to keep everyone informed and thank you for your co-operation."
