There is still one more event for this year’s Trout Festival as Beaver Lake day will take place this Saturday.

Denare Beach Rec Director Mel Durette talks about some of the events that will be taking place.  " We have the fire department who will be doing kids games and letting them run hoses and stuff. We will have hamburgers and hot dogs there, there will be other kids events including bubble gum blowing and potatoe sack races and all that kind of stuff. We have canoe races for both teens and adults and there will be music with Amisk Sounds and we will wind it down with fireworks at 11:45."

There will also be free ice cream and cupcakes for the first 200 people at 10pm. Durette also went on to mention that they are excited to be working in conjunction with  the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation at Beaver Lake Day for the first time in it’s history.
