Initial production has started at a copper project

VMS Ventures reports they continue to move forward on the Reed Copper Project near Snow Lake.  Their joint venture partner and operator Hudbay has received the Environment Act Licence for the Project from the Manitoba government and has started initial production.  The licence permits the operation of the Reed Mine as a 13 hundred tonnes per day underground copper mine and its supporting infrastructure.

VMS COO Neil Richards says the receipt of the licence and the successful extraction of a bulk sample are both significant milestones for the project. He says the licence confirms the care and diligence taken by Hudbay in moving the project forward within mandated guidelines while the extraction of the bulk sample project is the first step in full production at Reed which remains on schedule to start in the first half of next year.
