The Flin Flon Rotary Club recognized two long time volunteers in the community by handing out the highest honor they can bestow with the Paul Harris Award.
The ceremony took place on Thursday night at the Flin Flon Rotary Wheel.
The Rotary Club honored Kathy McCormick who has volunteered in the community for over 30 years in lots of different capacities.
Kathy has volunteered for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Horticulture Society, Girl Guides, Catechism classes, St Ann’s Church and Manitoba Emergency Assistance.
Kathy also worked with Habitat for Humanity in forming a local branch in Flin Flon and was able to help build a brand new home. After Habitat folded she helped establish the RE-Use It Store which still operates today.
RE Use It has been able to donate over $25,000.00 throughout the years to many needy organizations.
