The Flin Flon Lions Club will be holding a walk for dog guides this Saturday June the 8th for the first time since 2009.
One of the organizers Jan Nikkel explains why this is such an important fundraiser.
"The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guide holds a yearly dog walk and these dogs are to supply Canadians with dogs for vision, hearing, autism, seizure, diabetic support and mobility issues.And it's to raise money for these dogs. And the only way that they raise money is from donation and fundraising.They get no government support."
Pledge sheets can be picked up at the Candy Bar and Northern Rainbows End. Registration is at 10, the walk at 11 and a dog show will take place at noon and it all takes place at Flinty’s Boardwalk. Prizes will be handed out to the people that collect the most pledges.
