Manitoba Conservation continues to update residents on the current wildfire situation that is happening around the Flin Flon area.

Good progress is being made and The Sourdough Bay Fire is now classified as Under Control and several scans have now been completed around the perimeter.  Crews have extinguished all spots along the edge, securing the fire from further spread.

A grid scan is scheduled for the southern portion north of Cranberry Portage. Crews will continue to extinguish hot spots within the burn over the next number of days. There are 21 crews, 6 helicopters and about 20 support staff that continue to work on the fire.
