The Wahkohtowin Trails Committee were able to open their first trail this past weekend after months of organizing , work bees and donations and volunteer Christine Williams tells us where it is located.
" As of this weekend the trail unofficially opened at Bakers Narrows and we are inviting hikers to try it out. It is a 1.6 km trail and it winds through natural ground so there are a few uneven surfaces, we didn't haul in rock or anything like that. We recommend runners or hiking shoes, no sandals. As you are walking there are four scenic outlooks and this trail is located at Phantom Lake."
Williams went on to say that they have already seen a number of people come out and use the trail and look forward to opening more soon . They are still waiting for signage to arrive, and when it does they will have an official grand opening.If you would like to find out more , you can join them for a meeting the second Tuesday of each month with the next one scheduled for June 11th at the Creighton Tourism office.
