You can support the Flin Flon Creighton area SPCA this weekend with a couple of fundraisers happening on Saturday.
They will host a garage sale from 9 to 3 at the Sportex and Flinty’s Hammer will perform at Johnny’s Social Club later that night starting at 10.
One of the staff members Britney Monchka lets us know what the money is used for. " It go's towards keeping our shelter going as a lot of people know we are a non profit , so we don't get government grants and any extra care for our animals and bills. A majority of it go's towards our vet care, when we get animals in rough shape it takes a lot to get them to a proper place of getting them into a home. Their food, our wages, hydro bill and taxes. It takes roughly $150,000.00 a year just to keep the SPCA going in order to help these animals."
If you would like to donate to the garage sale you can drop off items at the Sportex til this Friday. Please no clothing or books. Tickets for the Johnny’s show are $10.00 and there will be draws for prizes throughout the night..
