The City Has Come Into Agreement With A Number Of Local Contractors

City Council passed a number of resolutions including traffic, park and residential and a number of agreements with local contractors at their meeting on Tuesday.

The City has agreed to lengthen the parking spot  in front of Inferno Schwarma to allow people getting out of their vehicles more space and room to safely get to the sidewalk. A final reading was given on turning the old Willowpark location from Parks and Rec to residential and now the City can take bids on that property.

The City has also made an agreement with Alliance Engineering Services for the upgrade to the Whitney Forums HVAC. They have received two grants including $90,000.00 from the Climate Chase Grant and another $75,000.00 from the Building Sustainable Committee to help pay for the upgrade.

There was a resolution passed that the RCMP will pay another year lease for a portion of the fire station. Plans continue to go ahead for the building of a new RCMP building this spring on old Hudbay property.

Councillors Richardson and Hanson are in Toronto for the Prospectors Developers Association of Canada Conference. They have had the opportunity to meet with various ministers including the Minister Of Mining. They are building valuable relationships including helping find investors for Callinex and Foran mining.

They will file a full report with the city when they return next week and we will have more details on CFAR news.
