The City Of Flin Flon is offering homeowners a grant to help protect their property and make their neighborhoods safer with the installation of a home security system.

Councillor Judy Eagle tells us how you can get yours.

" This is one of City Councils initiatives to help address community safety issues. It is a resolution that was passed at the regular council meeting of May 16th  of 2023. The resolution privides a $150.00 off setting tax grant for residential home owners that purchase and install home security cameras. The reason for this is that we know working with RCMP, talking to our tax payers we know that these home security cameras are extremely effective. When something go's down people have been apprehended a couple days later. This is applied for with a one page form which can be picked up at City Hall."

The protocol for purchasing a home security system is one per property and you can not be in tax arrears at application time. Denare Beach and Creighton have adopted these grants as well.
